TanJent is delighted to part of the empirica team for the EC's latest eHealth Impact project to evaluate ten interoperable EHR and ePrescribing projects in Europe. Kick off was 15 January and news will be posted here with links to theproject webiste. Ten sites will be evaluated, adding to the existing knowlege of the costs, benefits and net benefits over time for eHealth investment identified in the eHealth Impact study. Essential good practices needed for success will also be identified.

The main methodology will build onthe previous eHealth Impact (eHI) study. It enables ICT and organisational change to be combined into an overall eHealth setting, and the impact on all stakeholders to be included in the evaluation.

EHR Impact sites already included in the evlauation are the CPR at University Hospitals Geneva, NHS Scotland's Emergency Care Summary, Clalit's hospital and primary care EPR in Israel and Sofia Heart Hospital's EPR. Other sites are scheduled to start in August.

A presentation of the EHRI findings was at the Swiss eHealth Summit 2008 in Berne in August 2008. The latest report from University Hospitals Geneva's computerised patient record will be presented by Tom Jones from TanJent and Alex Dobrev from empirica. This follows on from the presentation at the EC's eHealth Conference in Slovenia in May 2008.

Findings from the EHRI evaluation of Scotland's Emergency Care Summary (ECS) will be presented at the Royal Society of Medicine's annual telehealth conference on 25 November 2008

Diraya is the Servicio Andaluz de Salud's eHelath record and ePrescribing investment. It is an excellent development which integrates all the healthcare information for each citizen across primary healthcare and hospital services. It is hoped to included it in the EHRI evaluation.
